The Fruit of the Spirit

Oftentimes people have the misconception that the fruit of the spirit is some list of qualities that point out all the inadequacies in their life, and that they must struggle to live up to its standards. That is the wrong mindset to approach this subject with. Much like how an apple tree does not struggle to produce apples, the fruit of the spirit is not the result of enduring grand challenges, but rather the natural result of staying connected to the source of life. Jesus said in John 15:5,
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
