God is Good
Galatians 5:22–23 NKJV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.
Exodus 33:18–23 NKJV
And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”
19 Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” 20 But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.” 21 And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. 22 So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. 23 Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.”
Exodus 34:5–7 NKJV
Now the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. 6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”
1. GOD IS GOOD
Goodness Greek – agathōsynē
In scripture the word “Good” denotes excellence, especially moral excellence.
In scripture the word “Good” denotes excellence, especially moral excellence.
Mark 10:17–18 NKJV
Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” 18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.
Goodness is based upon a very high standard. It’s God’s standard, who He is, And what He does.
We are vessels of the life and nature of God. When God‘s goodness is manifested in us, we display what God is really like to a lost world.
- Uprightness of heart and life, goodness, kindness
excellence. Especially moral excellence.
Your life may be the only bible that someone will ever read!
2. YIELD
Our aim is to fully yield to God and allow, Him to live out His life through us.
Galatians 2:20 NKJV
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Philippians 1:21 NKJV
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Romans 6:11–14 NKJV
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
3. NO COMPROMISE
Goodness does not compromise or yield to evil.
Psalm 45:7 NKJV
You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.
Psalm 97:10 NKJV
You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
The only power strong enough to overcome evil is good! Good is strong enough to overcome evil!
Romans 12:21 NKJV
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Remember Goodness is Gods life lived out in you!
Goodness Is yielding to God and letting him manifest his life and you and through you.
