The Power to Walk Free

Notes
Galatians 5:16–18 NKJV
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
1. THE BAPTISM INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST
1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.
This is the job of the Holy Spirit.
“For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body”
2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2. THE BAPTISM INTO WATER
Water Baptism is a burying of the old man a cutting of the flesh, this is more than a symbol, It’s a work of grace in our hearts.
Galatians 2:20 NKJV
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Matthew 28:19 NKJV
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
3. THE BAPTISM INTO THE HOLY SPIRIT
Matthew 3:11 NKJV
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He (Jesus) who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
This is in all four gospels
– The birth
– The death
– The resurrection
– The baptism in the Holy Spirit
– The death
– The resurrection
– The baptism in the Holy Spirit
We just read this in Matthew 3.
Mark 1:8 NKJV
I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
Luke 3:16
John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
John 1:33
I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
Let’s see what Jesus said about the baptism In The Holy Spirit. Luke 24:49 NKJV
Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
Acts 1:4-5 NKJV
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
Acts 1:8 NKJV
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
4. ALL THREE BAPTISMS
I want to show you all three in the New Testament
Acts 8:12 NKJV
But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.
– They believed – salvation
– They were baptized – water Baptism
Look at verse 14
Acts 8:14-17 NKJV
Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit had already baptized them into the Body Of Christ, but Jesus wanted to baptize them into the Holy Spirit.
Acts 19:1-6 NKJV
And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said to them, 3 “Into what then were you baptized?” So they said, “Into John’s baptism.” 4Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
Fifty days after Passover Moses goes up on the mountain and the Spirit of The Lord came upon him this is where we got Pentecost.
Jesus wants to baptize you with power from on high.
Jesus wants to baptize you with power from on high.
1 Corinthians 10:1-2
Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, 2 all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,
1 Corinthians 10:11
Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.
I want you to see how wonderful and complete God is.
– When I get saved i become a new creation in Christ.
– When I get water baptized the old person is cut off.
– When I get baptized in the Holy Spirit I get power to walk in the new In this new life.
– When I get saved i become a new creation in Christ.
– When I get water baptized the old person is cut off.
– When I get baptized in the Holy Spirit I get power to walk in the new In this new life.
Here’s a valid question, do I only have all three baptisms?
