You Shall Receive Power
Monday July 23, 2018

Notes
Acts 1:8 NKJV
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The Great Commission
That means there is Power for The Mission
Acts 1:8 NKJV
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Words full Of Power
The Holy Spirit is like the hand in the glove of the preached Gospel. The Gospel must be preached under Divine unction; then, any result can be achieved. It is the power that can ensure the Great Commission is fulfilled.

Didn’t our hearts burn
Luke 24:30–32 NKJV
Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem.
30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.
32 And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”
Boldness Of The Spirit
Proverbs 28:1
The wicked flee when no one pursues,But the righteous are bold as a lion.
This dying world needs you to walk with God
One of the byproducts of walking with Him is boldness
Peters Boldness
I want you to notice something about Peter
He was very bold when he was in the presence of Jesus
He walked upon the water
He chopped off an ear
Now look at His response
Just a little time after this! The same evening!
So full of fear that he even denies Christ to a servant Girl!
With what happened to this bold water walking ear Chopping man? That he was even afraid to share his faith With a little girl?
You see the moment he was separated from Jesus
He lost His boldness
Acts 4
Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, The Priest and Sadducees were greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.
Look at verse 8
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: 9 If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, 10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. 14 And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
What did they say here?
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
Now I want yo to see something here!
Peter Bold when He walked with Jesus
But after separated from Jesus he was weak fearful
Look again at what they said
Uneducated, untrained ordinary Men!
Boldness seems to be one of the primary byproducts of being filled with the Spirit in Acts.
So many Times We are asking God to remove the problem!
Instead He is giving us boldness to confront the Problem, the
Boldness to change the Problem.
Ask For Boldness
Acts 4:29-31
Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Ephesians 6:19
and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Look at what this Prayer for boldness produced!
Acts 5:12-21 (NKJV)
12 And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch. 13 Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly. 14 And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, 15 so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. 16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
17 Then the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with indignation, 18 and laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison. 19 But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, 20 “Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.”
21 And when they heard that, they entered the temple early in the morning and taught…
Romans 1:16:
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”
Boldness is what impressed the skeptics. In other words, it wasn’t what they said as much as the spirit in which it was said, that impacted people.
1 Corinthians 14:1–4 NKJV
Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. 3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. 4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
It all boils down to this.
Acts 4:13
“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and took note that these men had been with Jesus.”
