Walking in His Power
Sunday February 3, 2019

Notes
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to
depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father,
“which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized
with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many
days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they
asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to
Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or
seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall
receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall
be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to
the end of the earth.”
Luke 24:49 NKJV
Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city
of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
1. What’s all this Power For?
Ezekiel 37:1–2 NKJV
The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit
of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full
of bones. 2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and
behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were
very dry. 3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.” 4 Again He said to me,
“Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the
word of the Lord! 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I
will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6 I will put sinews
on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in
you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”
So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was
a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to
bone. 8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them,
and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.
9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man,
and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four
winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’
”10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into
them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great
army
Romans 1:16 NKJV
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God
to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for
the Greek.
Luke 4:18–19 NKJV
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
