Notes
John14:16-18
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
For He dwells with you and will be in you.”
You Know Him
By Faith you know Him
Ask God to reveal to you the person of the Holy Spirit
Being born again is not just an experience; rather, it is receiving the indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirit, a Divine Personality, who comes to make His home in us.
Colossians 1:26–27 NKJV
the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
1 Samuel 10:6 NLT
At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person.
The Holy Spirit has been sent by Jesus to give you everything you need to be a victorious, successful, faith-filled, overcoming child of God in this world. With Him at your side, you are equipped for every situation you could ever face in life.
The New Testament gives us three relations that God sustains toward man.
First – God is for us.
Second – God is with us.
Third – God is in us.

God Is For Us
To have God be for us guarantees our success: “. . .
Romans 8:31 NKJV
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Samuel 17:45–46 NKJV
Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you.
If God is for you, and you know that He is for you, you become utterly fearless in life.
There can be no defeat if the Lord is for us. And, thank God, He is for us. If God be for us, who can be against us?
God Is With You
You can also have the assurance that not only is God for you, but in every place in life and in every situation, God is with you. No matter what the circumstances may be, if you are a Christian, the Lord is with you.
The knowledge of the Word of God along this line should certainly cause our hearts to leap for joy within us, and buoy our spirits up in faith and confidence.
But something amazing happened in the New Covenant
He is In You
Under the New Testament or New Covenant, the Bible says we have a better covenant established on better promises (Heb. 8:6).
God Himself recreated us and made us new creatures in Christ and made us His own, then He, in the Person of the Holy Ghost, makes our bodies His home!
1 Corinthians 3:16 NKJV
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 CORINTHIANS 3:16 AMP
16 Do you not discern and understand that you [the whole church at Corinth] are God’s temple His sanctuary, and that God’s Spirit has His permanent dwelling in you — to be at home in you collectively as a church and also individually?
1 Corinthians 6:19 NKJV
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
1 CORINTHIANS 6:19 AMP
19 Do you not know that your body is the temple — the very sanctuary — of the Holy Spirit who lives within you, whom you have received as a Gift from God? You are not your own?
2 Corinthians 6:16 NKJV
And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”.
2 CORINTHIANS 6:16 AMP
16 What agreement can there be between a temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in and with and among them and will walk in and with and among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
But on the Cross just before Jesus died, He said, “It is finished” (John 19:30).
The old Covenant is finished!
Hanging on that rugged Cross on Golgotha’s rugged brow, Jesus said, “It is finished.” The Word tells us that at that moment the curtain that partitioned off the Holy of Holies in the Temple was rent in two from top to bottom
Matthew 27:51–53 NKJV
Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
The curtain 60 feet in height, 30 feet in width and four inches thick.)
it was torn from top down, meaning this act must have come from above.
The veil
The word “veil” in Hebrew means a screen, divider or separator that hides. What was this curtain hiding?
Essentially, it was shielding a holy God from sinful man.
The picture of the veil was that of a barrier between man and God,
So the presence of God remained shielded from man behind a thick curtain
Presence which had been kept in the Holy of Holies, moved out of that earth-made Holy of Holies and God has never dwelt in an earth-made Holy
of Holies since.
Mark 9:23 NKJV
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
The reason that all things are possible to him who believes is that God our Father planned that the believing one should have God Himself living in him through the indwelling Presence of the Holy Ghost.
And with God in the believer, nothing is impossible!
Greater Is He That Is in You
1 John 4:4 NKJV
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
If we were really conscious of the Greater One in us, then we would have no fear of the devil.
God For Us, With Us, and In Us
He is everything in us that the Scriptures say He is.
He’ll do everything in us the Word says He will do.
And He will be everything in us the Word says He will be.
“I am a thousand times bigger on the inside than I am on the outside.”
Smith Wigglesworth
Someone asked Wigglesworth, “What is your secret to the great place of spirituality you have attained?”
His answer was, “All I ever did was to remember that greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world.”
