Acknowledging God

Notes
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Your Voice Matters
“The measure of your success in Christianity is not how much you come to church but how often you go.”
– Joel Simms
Psalm 2:1–4 NLT
Why are the nations so angry?
Why do they waste their time with futile plans?
2 The kings of the earth prepare for battle;
the rulers plot together
against the Lord
and against his anointed one.
3 “Let us break their chains,” they cry,
“and free ourselves from slavery to God.”
4 But the one who rules in heaven laughs.
The Lord scoffs at them.
Acknowledge God
I am the Lord Thy God, Thou shall have no other God before Me.
Psalm 1:1–6 NKJV
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
“In America the best indication that someone will vote democrat or republican is how often they go to church.”
-David Barton
Let’s look at the Senate Race
Congress has two parts, the Senate and the House of Representatives.
The Senate
- There are 100 Senators, two from each state.
- The Senator is supposed to represent the interests of the states.
- Each state gets two senators (no matter how big or small they are). Originally,
- The Senate serve six-year terms.
The House
Also known as a Congressman
- The House of Representatives has 435 members.
- The number of Representatives each state gets is based on the state’s population. States with large populations have more representatives. For example, California has 52 Representatives, while North Dakota has just one.
* Each state is divided into congressional districts, and your congressperson is supposed to represent you in the Federal government.
They’re the one you’re supposed to go to if you have a problem with how the country is being run.
- They serve a two year term
Your Senators represents your State.
Your Congressman represents you and your Voice.
