THE GREAT GIVE THANKS
Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:11 AMPC
You have within you the answer for every problem, the same Spirit of Power abiding in you to bring health, strength and life for your entire being.
1. WHAT HAS GOD DONE FOR YOU?
Psalm 107:1–7 NKJV
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, 3 And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south. 4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in. 5 Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them. 6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses. 7 And He led them forth by the right way, That they might go to a city for a dwelling place.
Psalm 107:19–22 NKJV
19 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. 20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. 21 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 22 Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving,
And declare His works with rejoicing.
If you are not grateful for what you have, How could you be happy with more? How long has it been since we’ve said thank you? Right now there are billions of people who would gladly trade places with you and me.
2. YOU START WITH THANKS
Psalm 100:4-5 NKJV
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.
And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He
Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-
lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.
John 11:41-43
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 And I know that You always hear Me….
3. THIS KEEPS YOU IN PLACE
Colossians 2:6–7 NKJV
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
He said in Be anxious for nothing Anxious :
G3309 (Strong) Merimnaō
to be anxious about: – (be, have) care (-ful), take thought.
The English word “thank” shares the same root as “think.”
Thankfulness is intimately connected to thoughtfulness.
We can’t be grateful without being mindful of the many benefits we enjoy in life and conscious of the rich blessings we have been given.
Philippians 4:6 AMP
6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
What would the next 10, 20 or 30 years look like if everyday you had this attitude of Gratitude!
