The Full Armor of God

Pastor David Crammer
John 19:17-18
And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a
Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, 18 where they crucified
Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the
center
Ephesians 6:13-17
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand
therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the
breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the
preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of
faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the
wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the word of God;
Put On Your Belt
This is the most important Piece of weaponry that we possess.
This Piece of equipment holds all the other pieces in place and
together.
– First of all his breastplate of Righteousness was held in place by his
belt.
– It held his sword.
– It held his arrows.
– His shield clipped to it!
If a soldier had all the other armor in place and not the Belt of Truth
everything would fall apart.
When you live your life based upon the word you will reproduce truth
and eliminate error!
Allow the word of God to be the basis to which you determine what
you reproduce and what you eliminate from your life! If it matches
God’s word I excepted! If It does not I eliminate it!
The Breastplate
having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
This protects the most vital organs your heart your lungs!
⁃ if satan’s going to try to stop you, he will try to attack your right standing with god
2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Isaiah 61:10 NKJV
I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered
me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with
ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
So when you wake up in the morning and put on the breastplate of
righteousness is your declare I am the righteousness of God in Christ
Jesus!
Revelation 12:11 NKJV
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of
their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death
Helmet of Salvation
The helmet of a Roman soldier, made either of brass or some other
type of metal, was especially fitted to the shape of the soldier’s head,
thus protecting the head from receiving a mortal wound from an arrow,
a sword, or an ax.
Helmet in Greek is the word “perkephalaia”
It’s a compound of the words peri and kephale.
peri in Greek = around
kephale Greek = head
Together they denotes a piece of armor that fits very tightly around the
head.
God Gave us this helmet to protect us against the mental assaults of
the enemy.
Now Satan knows that your mind is the control center of your life. He
knows if he can seize control of your thoughts and he can begin to
extend his influence in the other areas from this place.
Ephesians 1:18 NKJV
the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know
what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His
inheritance in the saints,
Galatians 3:13–14 NKJV
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a
curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a
tree”), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles
in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through
faith.
Romans 12:2 NKJV
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and
acceptable and perfect will of God.
The Roman soldier’s helmet was a fascinating and flamboyant piece of
armor, very ornate and intricate. Highly decorated with all kinds of
engravings and etchings, the helmet looked more like a beautiful piece
of artwork than a simple piece of metal formed to fit the head of a
soldier. Why would the Holy Spirit compare a piece of weaponry like
this to salvation? Because your salvation is the most gorgeous, most
intricate, most elaborate, most ornate gift God ever gave to you! Paul
calls this marvelous gift “the helmet of salvation.
