Notes
Mark 16:15 NLT
And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.
1. JESUS IS THE LIGHT
Genesis 1:3–4 NKJV
Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
John 1:1–5 AMP
IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. 2 He was present originally with God. 3 All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. 4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. 5 And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].
John 1:3–5 TPT,
And through his creative inspiration this Living Expression made all things, for nothing has existence apart from him! 4A fountain of life was in him, for his life is light for all humanity. 5And this Light never fails to shine through darkness— Light that darkness could not overcome!
John 9:5 NLT
But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world.”
John 14:9 NLT
Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?
Colossians 1:15 NLT
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
2. YOU ARE THE LIGHT
Matthew 5:14–16 NKJV
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do
they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Philippians 2:15
that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world
that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world
Colossians 4:2–6 NIV
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
3. GOD’S CO-LABOR
– A Laborer let’s his light shine – A Laborer prays.
Matthew 9:37–38 NLT
He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. 38 So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
2 Corinthians 4:3–4 NLT
If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. 4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
