A Strong Church

Notes
The church is God’s chosen conduit to take his love and his message to the world!
WHAT IS OUR PART?
We each have a part.
Ephesians 4:15–16 NKJV
but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
Hebrews 11:5–6 NKJV
By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
HOW DO WE DO IT?
Do everything to the glory of God
Colossians 3:17 NKJV
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
John 13:35
“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
If we can’t even love fellow believers—if we skewer each other over theological differences
and cultural preferences—how can we expect the world to want what we have?
Transforming the world with God’s love starts right where we are, on the home front, as we learn to love each other as Christ loved us.
1 John 4:15–16 NKJV
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
Acts 2:44–47 NKJV
Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
Colossians 3:22–25 NKJV
Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. 25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.
WHAT IS THE REWARD?
1 Corinthians 3:11-14
For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work
Isaiah 1:19 NKJV
If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;
Mark 10:29–31 NKJV
So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”
Hebrews 11:26
considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward
