1. OUR GUIDE
John 16:13–15 NKJV
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
Guide from the Greek- a tour guide – Particularly it is a guide to take you into unknown, unexplored territory. He’s already been there he knows all the routes, all the paths therefore he is qualified to take you where you’ve never been before.
Romans 8:14–16 NKJV
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
“as many as by the Spirit of God are being led.” These are the sons of God.
The Greek word led – Ago there are two meanings for this word and both are correct.
1. Is an agricultural term
The farmer would take rope and wrapping it around the neck of a animal and taking the other end of that rope and tug. The animal then would faithfully follow, being led.
2. This word Ago is also an athletic term.
It’s where we get the term Agony. It describes a great struggle. The struggle of the mind of the will and a struggle of the emotions.
Luke 22:44 NKJV
And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
He is the great leader we are the great followers!
2. DON’T HARDEN YOUR HEART
Hebrews 4:7 NKJV
again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.”
Psalm 95:7–11 NKJV
For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice: 8 “Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, As in the day of trial in the wilderness, 9 When your fathers tested Me; They tried Me, though they saw My work. 10 For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.’ 11 So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”
Question, what was God trying to do for the Children of Israel?
Get them to the promise Land the fastest and safest way.
harden Greek – sklērynēte
Strong’s Greek 4645: To harden, make hard, make stubborn. From skleros; to indurate, i.e. render stubborn.
3. MAKE A TURN
The word repent means to turn.
