1. WHAT ARE PSALMS, HYMNS & SPIRITUAL SONGS?
Ephesians 5:18-19 KJV
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;The evidence of receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit is speaking in other tongues. That’s the starting point, however the overflow of a spirit filled life will be psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.
- A spiritual poem or ode
- It can be sung, spoken, or chanted
- It may or may not rhyme but will always have an element of poetry to it
- Songs that denote praise unto God
Spiritual Songs
- Revelation from the Spirit that is sung out
- It edifies, exhorts, and comforts.
But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.
God is using this flow of the spirit to strengthen and equip the body of Christ forthe last days.
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one
another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the
Lord.How to begin doing this.
1 Corinthians 14:26 indicates that everyone of us is able to operate in this.Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs should be practiced to minister to yourself in private, to others in public ministry, and also to minister to the Lord in praise and worship.
“Be filled with the Spirit.” “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly.”
How richly the word of God dwells inside us and how full of the spirit we are, is going to determine the richness of how these things flow among us.
Begin by praising the Lord the best you know how or pick a scripture a sing it out.
It’s okay to start off in the natural, and the Holy Ghost is inside you to help you.
As you depend on him, words will come to your spirit that you’ve never thought of before.
Many times it’s like a tea kettle.
It may take a minute to get yourself going, but as those living waters inside you get stirring, soon it will be overflowing out of you.
The more accustomed you get to speaking out of your spirit, the easier it will be to do this.

WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH
Worship is only reserved for the lord.
John 4:20–24 NKJV
Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.” 21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
In Spirit
In worship it’s our spirit that that relates directly to God as a Spirit.
This is adoration from your spirit to Gods who is a Spirit .
1 Corinthians 6:15–17 NKJV
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of
You cannot worship beyond what you Know about the one your worshiping.
Psalm 29:1-2 AMP
Ascribe to the LORD, O sons of the mighty, Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name;
Worship the LORD in the beauty and majesty of His holiness [as the creator and source of holiness].
