Faith Basics – Carmin Batista

June 27, 2020

1. What Faith IS / IS NOT

Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV) – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
– Faith must be NOW
– Faith gives substance to Hope
– Hope = Expectation, Dream, Inner Image, Blueprint to Faith

Faith is NOT: Your Church; Blind; Some time it will happen…

2. How Faith DOES / DOES NOT come

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Hearing the Annointed, Spoken Word

James 1:2-6 (NKJV) – My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
James 1:13 (NKJV) – Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.

Temptation = temptation, testing, trials

3. People say, ‘I Believe / Trust God’

  • What is it about God that you Believe or Trust?

II Corinthians‬ ‭4:17‬-18 ‭(NKJV‬‬) – For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.‬‬‬

Mark 11:22 (NKJV) – So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.
– Our Faith is in GOD and His Word

There is no such thing as Biblical Faith aside from the Bible.

What verse(s) are you standing on?

You must have a Word from God.
Romans 10:17 (NKJV) – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

*You can’t have faith in someone else’s testimony or experience.

*Don’t cast Faith out based on Your experience.
