1 Peter 2:4–5 NLT
You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor. 5 And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.

Recap From Last Week

Ephesians 4:11–12 CEV

Proverbs 27:17 NLT
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. We become mature by iron sharpening iron. This is not only the job of the Pastor but the body of Christ helping each other.
1 Corinthians 15:33–34 NLT
Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.” 34 Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all. I want the culture of the kingdom that’s in you affecting me. Many of my dearest friends I met In Church.

Make it a point to spend time with a fellow believer this week outside of church.
Focus on the family article

Kids do thrive when they’re surrounded by friends who incline them toward spiritual growth. With this in mind, let me share with you the No. 1 way to have your children end up surrounded by spiritually passionate Christian friends: They need to be spiritually passionate Christians. Like-minded friends attract; remember? Kids who are excited about following Jesus tend to prefer friends who share their enthusiasm. So how do you instill this passion? Two things help build spiritual passion in teens. The first is waking up every day in a home with a passionate mom and dad — parents who radiates love, grace, mercy and hope and Christ chose some of us to be apostles, prophets, missionaries, pastors, and teachers, 12 so
that his people would learn to serve and his body would grow strong.
Ephesians 4:13 CEV
This will continue until we are united by our faith and by our understanding of the Son of God. Then we will be mature, just as Christ is, and we will be completely like him. who spend focused time in the Bible and on their knees. They’re fun to live with and easy to respond to when a teen has lost his way.
The second is being part of a family that serves others. A family that constantly serves each other, their neighbors, their church, classmates, strangers, the poor and the disenfranchised. When Christian teenagers are “servants,” their others-orientation gives them a much better perspective when it comes to choosing friends.
Proverbs 18:24 NKJV
A man who has friends must himself be friendly,
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Followers Of Christ

Ephesians 4:17 CEV
As a follower of the Lord, I order you to stop living like stupid, godless people. 18 Their minds are in the dark, and they are stubborn and ignorant and have missed out on the life that comes from God. They no longer have any feelings about what is right, 19 and they are so greedy that they do all kinds of indecent things. 20-21 But that isn’t what you were taught about Jesus Christ. He is the truth, and you heard about him and learned about him. 22 You were told that your foolish desires will destroy you and that you must give up your old way of life with all its bad habits. 23 Let the Spirit change your way of thinking 24 and make you into a new person. You were created to be like God, and so you must please him and be truly holy.
Rules for the New Life 25 We are part of the same body. Stop lying and start telling each other the truth. 26 Don’t get so angry that you sin. Don’t go to bed angry 27 and don’t give the devil a chance. 28 If you are a thief, quit stealing. Be honest and work hard, so you will have something to give to people in need. 29 Stop all your dirty talk. Say the right thing at the right time and help others by what you say. 30 Don’t make God’s Spirit sad. The Spirit makes you sure that someday you will be free from your sins.
31 Stop being bitter and angry and mad at others. Don’t yell at one another or curse each other or ever be rude. 32 Instead, be kind and merciful, and forgive others, just as God forgave you because of Christ.

Impacted By His Grace

Galatians 2:20 NKJV
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Philippians 2:13 NKJV
for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
Matthew 7:21–23 NKJV
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
