Notes
1 Corinthians 15:51–58 LEB
Behold, I tell you a mystery: we will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For it is necessary for this perishable body to put on incorruptibility, and this mortal body to put on immortality. 54 But whenever this perishable body puts on incorruptibility and this mortal body puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will take place:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?
56 Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! 58 So then, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, because you* know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
1. STEADFAST
Steadfast –
1. Sitting, seat, chair to be settled
2. Firm, immovable, steadfast, of those who are fixed in purpose:
What you do with the time that you have down here is what really matters.
2. IMMOVABLE
Immovable –
Not to be moved from its place, unmoved; metaphorically, firmly persistent unmovable
1 Corinthians 13:9–10 NKJV
For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
Deuteronomy 29:29 NKJV
The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.
Job 42:1–3 NKJV
Then Job answered the Lord and said: 2 “I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. 3 You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
Dot fall into the trap of falling from Him but fall to Him!
3. ALWAYS ABOUNDING IN THE WORK
1 Corinthians 15:57–58 LEB
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! 58 So then, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, because you* know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Revelation 21:3–4 NKJV
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
