Relationship with the Father — Pastor Kim Batista

Notes
How Do You View God?
Is He your Savior? Your ticket to heaven. The way out of hell. Pulled you out of darkness and into his wonderful light. WONDERFUL
Is He Lord of your life? Do we allow him to guide our thoughts and actions? Do you view him as something / someone too big to understand? Do you think he is too busy to have time for little ol’ me?
Is He FATHER?
Is he your closest and dearest friend? The one you talk to first each day, and all throughout the day. This takes a level of devotion, love and commitment.
GOD AS SAVIOR
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
1 Corinthians 3:1
3 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?
GOD AS LORD
This is the point in our Christian walk where we move from being led by our flesh to being led by the spirit of God. Where we trust Him to lead us and to guide us.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. We can say out loud a hundred times, “I give it to you God” “I trust you in this area” “I remove my hands from it” “I remove my thoughts from it” “I place this situation or this person into your hands” It is a nice saying but it is a whole different animal to actually do it.
GOD AS FATHER
His goal for us is Relationship We need to get to know who he is. Our priority should be to snuggle up close to him. Allow him to speak love over us. Word of affirmation and encouragement.
Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Proverbs 8:17
I love those who love me, And those who seek me diligently will find me.
Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee.
Philippians 4:6 -7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
