Notes
1. YOUR HEART IS HIS REINS
Psalm 16:7 KJV
I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
Psalm 16:7–8 NLT
I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
Reins, this is just like the rein on a horses bridal.
Psalm 32:8-9
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.
9 Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.
Bit and bridle are used to put pressure and even cause discomfort, to get the horse to go in the right direction. God is saying “Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle…”
Look at Palms 16 again
Psalm 16:7
I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
Romans 8:14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
The Greek word led is ago
Ago = describes one leading an animal such as a cow or goat. The owner would put a rope around its neck, then tug until the animal started to follow him
When the animal decided to cooperate and follow that gentle tug, then he could be gently ” led” Where the owner wanted him to go.
The Spirit of God will take us exactly where we need to go to reach our full potential in life!
I urge you to look at your own life and make the decision to let the Holy Spirit lead you in every area. As He tugs at your heart you say “lord I sense you tugging at my heart and I am ready to let you lead me wherever you want me to go.” One of the greatest excitement in life is letting go, and allowing God to take you into some amazing adventures.
2. FOLLOW PEACE
Colossians 3:15 AMPC
And let the peace soul harmony which comes from Christ rule act as umpire continually in your hearts deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state to which as members of Christ’s one body you were also called to live…
Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct [a] your paths.
