Notes
Matthew 24:10-12 AMPC
And then many will be offended and repelled and will begin to distrust and desert Him Whom they ought to trust and obey and will stumble and fall away and betray one another and pursue one another with hatred. 11 And many false prophets will rise up and deceive and lead many into error. 12 And the love of the great body of people will grow cold because of the multiplied lawlessness and iniquity,
1. THE REAL YOU
1 Thessalonians 5:23
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
You are a spirit, that has a Soul, (mind will & emotions) that lives in a Body.
John 3:6-8
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
You cannot see the wind but you can see the effects of the Wind You see the trees swaying but not able to see the wind itself.
Are the leaves pushing the wind around? No, the wind is telling the leaves where to go, So it is with the things of the spirit. The spirit man is the one who should be in control, not your surroundings.
The devil wants you to pay attention to your feelings, Jesus wants you to pay attention to His truth.
2. SET IT AND DON’T FORGET IT!
A thermometer is not in control, it simply tells you what’s going on around it. However You set a thermostat to where you want it to be and the AC unit goes to work to change the environment.
Romans 8:5-6
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Psalm 77:3
“…I complained and my spirit was overwhelmed”
** Psalm 77:3 BST**
I remembered God, and rejoiced; I poured out my complaint, and my soul fainted.
Philippians 2:14-15
“Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world”.
James 1:6–8 NKJV
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
It’s not about how you feel but what you know!
3. WHAT DID GOD SAY ABOUT IT?
John 8:31-32
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Isaiah 41:10
(I may feel alone but God said) “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God.”
(I may feel weak, but God said) “I will strengthen you,”
(I may feel like I can’t do it, but God said) “Yes, I will help you,I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
Psalm 119:165 KJV
Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them
