Divine Counsel

Notes
Psalm 33:10–11 NKJV
The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. 11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations.” The counsel of the Lord refers to God’s divine will, wisdom, and plans. It reveals His intentions, purposes, and guidance—offered to those who seek Him in humility and faith. It ensures that His purposes will ultimately prevail—no matter the resistance.

Genesis 1:1-5 NLT
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” And evening passed and morning came, marking the first day. “Then He separated the light from the darkness.”

I think about them all day long. 98 Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide. 99 Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws. 100 I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments.
1 Peter 2:9 AMP
But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A CONSECRATED NATION, A [special] PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
3. THE FEAR OF THE LORD LEADS TO HIS COUNSEL
Psalm 25:14
The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.”
The CSB translation states,”The secret counsel of the Lord is for those who fear him,” The fear of the Lord is a deep reverence, awe, and respect for God—acknowledging His holiness, power, justice, and love, and responding with obedience, humility, and worship.

John 16:7 NLT
“But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.” The word “Paraclete” comes from the Greek word paraklētos, meaning: “One who is called alongside to help.” It refers to someone who comforts, advocates, counsels, strengthens, and intercedes—a helper and supporter.
