2 Peter 1:12 KJV
Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance ofthese things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
Mark 4:3–9 NKJV
Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it. 5 Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. 7 And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop. 8 But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
9 And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Mark 4:9–11 NKJV
And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
10 But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked
Him about the parable. 11 And He said to them, “To you it has been
given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who
are outside, all things come in parables,
And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When
they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was
sown in their hearts.
Stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it
with gladness; they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for
a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s
sake, immediately they stumble.
They are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the
deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in
choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the
word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a
Some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
What determines the difference?
Mark 4:24–25 AMP
And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of
thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure
[of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides]
will be given to you who hear.
25 For to him who has will more be given; and from him who has
nothing, even what he has will be taken away
Isaiah 55:1–3 NKJV
Come to the waters;
And you who have no money,
Come, buy and eat.
Yes, come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without price.
2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
3 Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live;
Isaiah 55:8-13 NKJV
Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.
8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
12 “For you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree,
And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree;
And it shall be to the Lord for a name,
For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”
