Come Let Us Build

Notes

The Power of Partnership

We build God’s Kingdom together,
we build a strong financial future through faithful sowing
we build with eternity in mind.

Nehemiah 2:17–18, NKJV
Then I said to them, “You see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.” 18 And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. So they said, “Let us rise up and build.” Then they set their hands to this good work.

God has called us to build something that is bigger than any one of us.

1. BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING

Genesis 12:2 NKJV
I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.

2. COME LET US BUILD.

  • Jesus said upon this rock I will build my church.
  • Build you life upon the rock

Matthew 16:18, NKJV
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Building as one!!

1 Chronicles 29:3–9, NLT
“And now, because of my devotion to the Temple of my God, I am giving all of my own private treasures of gold and silver to help in the construction. This is in addition to the building materials I have already collected for his holy Temple. 4 I am donating more than 112 tons of gold* from Ophir and 262 tons of refined silver* to be used for overlaying the walls of the buildings 5 and for the other gold and silver work to be done by the craftsmen. Now then, who will follow my example and give offerings to the Lord today?” 6 Then the family leaders, the leaders of the tribes of Israel, the generals and captains of the army,* and the king’s administrative officers all gave willingly. 7 For the construction of the Temple of God, they gave about 188 tons of gold, 10,000 gold coins, 375 tons of silver, 675 tons of bronze, and 3,750 tons of iron. 8 They also contributed numerous precious stones, which were deposited in the treasury of the house of the Lord under the care of Jehiel, a descendant of Gershon. 9 The people rejoiced over the offerings, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the Lord, and King David was filled with joy.

THE TWO MITES

Mark 12:41–44, NLT
Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts. 42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins.* 43 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. 44 For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.”

Both equally important to Jesus

Partnership is not everyone giving the same amount. It is everyone asking God, “What is my part?” When we work together, we can accomplish what none of us could accomplish alone.

3. PARTNER – WE ARE BUILDING FOR THE NEXT GENERATION

Today, the harvest includes the children and teenagers in our community. It is estimated that approximately 43% of American Christians came to faith before age 13

Nearly two-thirds came to faith before age 18.

We are not simply entertaining teenagers until they become adults.
We are helping young people establish a faith that can carry them through the pressures, decisions, and challenges of life.
Every child matters. Every teenager matters. Every family matters.

We may never know the full reach of one seed planted in a child’s heart.

Time period Approximate deaths worldwide

Every second 2
Every minute 120
Every hour 7,200
Every day 173,000
Every year 63 million

The worship is over. The service is just beginning.

As long as the Earth remains, seedtime and harvest will continue as long as the earth remains. (Genesis 8:22 NKJV)

“I cannot expect a harvest in a field where I have never sown, and I cannot expect to grow in generosity without learning to sow.”

Holy Spirit, what do You want me to do?”
